Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, southeast Seoul, is the tallest building in Korea: 123 floors and 555 m from the ground to the tip of its tapering glass spire. It opened to the public on April 3, 2017, about three decades after the Lotte group first bought the site. The tower holds offices, residences and a luxury hotel, but for visitors the draw is Seoul Sky, the observatory on its top floors, which gives a 360-degree view across the city from roughly 500 m up.
Seoul Sky observatory
The observatory occupies the uppermost levels of the tower and is reached by lift from the ticket office on basement level 1. Main features:
- Viewing floors – windows on all sides give an unbroken panorama. On a clear day you can follow the Hangang River west towards the city centre, pick out N Seoul Tower on Namsan, and see the mountains ringing the city, including Bukhansan to the north.
- Sky Deck – a section with a transparent glass floor, recognised by Guinness World Records as the highest glass-floored observation deck.
- 123 Lounge – a premium lounge serving food and desserts behind a tall glass curtain wall.
- Exhibition and media spaces – displays on Korean heritage and on the design and construction of the tower.
- Sky Bridge – a separately ticketed guided tour across an exposed bridge high on the tower’s crown at 541 m, for those with a head for heights.
Tickets and timing
Tickets are sold online and at the B1 ticket office. If you buy a ticket for a set entry time, be at the observatory entrance by that time; paper and mobile tickets are equally valid, but screenshots are refused. Weekends and clear evenings are busiest; weekday mornings are usually calmer. A combined ticket with Lotte World Aquarium, in the mall at the foot of the tower, must be used on the same day.
Around the tower
The tower sits on the edge of Seokchon Lake, whose lakeside path is a pleasant walk before or after the observatory, especially in cherry-blossom season. Lotte World Mall and the Lotte World theme park are next door, and the Olympic Park area lies a short ride east. For a more traditional counterpoint on the same side of the river, Bongeunsa temple and the COEX mall with its Starfield Library are a few stops west on subway Line 2. See our transportation guide for using the metro and transport cards.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a Seoul Sky ticket in 2026?
A standard ticket costs 33,000 won for visitors aged 13 and over and 29,000 won for children aged 36 months to 12. Children under 36 months enter free with a guardian. A Fast Pass that skips reservations costs 62,000 won for any age.
What time does Seoul Sky close?
It opens at 10:30 and closes at either 22:00 or 23:00 depending on the day, with the later closing on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays. Last entry is one hour before closing, so check the date on the official hours calendar.
Is the Sky Bridge included in the observatory ticket?
No. The Sky Bridge, an outdoor walk across the top of the tower at 541 m, is a separate guided tour that costs 130,000 won and includes observatory admission. It closed for the 2025–26 winter season (December to February), so check operating dates in advance.
When is the best time to go up?
Late afternoon is popular because you can see the city by day, at sunset and after dark in one visit. On hazy days the view of distant mountains is limited, so check air quality before buying a timed ticket.
