Sources

Every price, opening time, rule and journey time is checked against an official source — the Korea Tourism Organization (VisitKorea), Korail, the Korea Heritage Service and royal palace offices, Korea National Park Service, city and provincial governments, the Ministry of Justice for entry rules, and attraction operators — and against at least one Korean-language source. Each page lists the sources it relies on.

If we can’t verify it, we leave it out

Where an official source does not state a detail (for example, the opening hours of individual market stalls), we omit it rather than estimate. We never describe visits or experiences that did not happen.

Dates

Every content page shows an “Updated” date: the date its facts were last checked. Planning and news pages also show when they were first published.

Ratings

Attraction lists use our own 0–3 recommendation rating: 3 = a highlight of the country, 2 = well worth it, 1 = if you have time or a special interest, 0 = for enthusiasts. Ratings are editorial and never paid for.

Own words, own maps

All text is written for this site. Region maps are drawn by us from public-domain Natural Earth data. Photos are clearly placeholders until our own images are added.

Corrections

Spotted something out of date? Email us via the contact page. We check reports against the source and update the page date when we change a fact.
