About Korea Travel Atlas

Korea Travel Atlas is an independent, English-language reference guide to South Korea, organised the way travellers plan: by region, city and attraction, by interest, and by the practical questions that come before a trip.

What you will find here

  • Destinations — eight travel regions, their cities, and ranked lists of attractions grouped by district.
  • Attraction pages with an essentials box: opening hours, closing days, admission, the nearest station and exit, and the Korean address for taxis and map apps.
  • Interests — palaces, temples and other themes ranked across the whole country.
  • Plan a trip — entry rules, transport and rail passes, money and phones.

How we work

Every price, time and rule on the site is checked against official sources — the Korea Tourism Organization, Korail, city and provincial governments, the Korea Heritage Service, national park and attraction operators — and against at least one Korean-language source, because Korean pages are often updated first. Each page shows the date it was last updated and lists its sources. If we cannot verify something, we leave it out. Read more in our editorial policy.

The guide is written and maintained by the Korea Travel Atlas editorial team. We do not accept payment for coverage; the site is funded by advertising and affiliate links, explained in our advertising and affiliate disclosure.
