Haeundae Blueline Park runs two rides on a disused coastal railway east of Haeundae Beach. The Sky Capsule (₩50,000–60,000 per car, one way) glides 2 km from Mipo to Cheongsapo in about 30 minutes. The Beach Train (₩10,000–16,000 per person) runs 4.8 km to Songjeong in about 25 minutes. Both run daily, the capsule from 08:30 and the train from 09:00.

The park (해운대블루라인파크) reuses the old Donghae Nambu Line track between Mipo, at the east end of Haeundae Beach, and Songjeong. The shore track closed in 2013 when the line was double-tracked and electrified, and the park opened in October 2020. A free walking path, the Busan Green Railway, runs alongside the whole way.

Sky Capsule or Beach Train?

The decision comes down to group size and how far you want to go. The capsules are priced per car, so they are good value for four and expensive for one.

2026 fares (in force since 1 May 2026) and ride data from the operator’s Korean and English pages, checked 21 October 2026. If you can only do one thing, ride the capsule from Mipo to Cheongsapo, then walk the coastal path back or catch the train.

Common plans:

  • Capsule one way, train back. Capsule Mipo → Cheongsapo, then the Beach Train from Cheongsapo back to Mipo (₩8,000). The cheapest way to try both.
  • Package. A one-way capsule plus an all-stops train pass: ₩73,000 for two, ₩92,000 for three, ₩111,000 for four. It suits a full afternoon out to Songjeong and back.
  • Train only. The all-stops pass (₩16,000) lets you get on once at each station, so you can hop off at the skywalks and Cheongsapo and ride back.

From the operator’s fare page, checked 21 October 2026; the page does not state the age band for child fares, so ask at the window. Children under 36 months ride free on both but count toward a capsule’s four seats. A group of five may share a four-seat car only if one of them is aged 7 or under (born 2020 or later); otherwise book two cars. The operator lists further discounts for over-65s and people with disabilities, sold only at the ticket windows with ID. Discounts for Busan residents do not apply to short-term visitors.

Booking. Tickets are sold on the official site, through resellers the operator lists (including Klook, Trip.com and KKday) and at the windows in Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong for the same day. The operator says some overseas cards fail on its own site, which is the main reason visitors buy through a reseller.

Refunds on the official site: full refund up to 3 days before; 80% two days before; 70% the day before; 50% on the day, before departure.

Timetable and boarding rules

Months Beach Train hours Sky Capsule hours
Nov–Feb 09:00–19:00 08:30–18:00
Mar, Apr, Oct 09:00–19:30 08:30–18:30
May, Jun, Sep 09:00–20:30 08:30–19:30
Jul, Aug 09:00–21:30 08:30–20:30

Beach Train hours apply to departures from both Mipo and Songjeong; trains run about three times an hour. Checked 21 October 2026 on the operator’s timetable pages. Hours can shift at weekends, on holidays and in July–August.

  • Sky Capsule slots are entry windows. A ticket for 11:00–11:30 means you join the queue in that half hour, not that you leave at 11:00. You cannot board early, and on busy days departures run late, so leave slack before your next plan.
  • Beach Train queue closes 10 minutes before your booked time. The booked time is your first ride; passengers on later rides board after first-ride ticket holders, so the wait can be long at busy times. At Cheongsapo and the small stops it is first come, first served.
  • More than 30 minutes late and you may be refused boarding with no refund.
  • Everyone gets off at Mipo and Songjeong. For a return trip on the train you need a two-ride or all-stops ticket.
  • Fireworks night. For the 21st Busan Fireworks Festival on Saturday 7 November 2026, the last trains leave both ends at 20:00 and the last capsule slot is 19:00–19:30.

What you see along the line

The Beach Train stops in this order from Mipo, with the operator’s distance markers:

  1. Mipo (0.3 km) – a small fishing harbour at the end of Haeundae Beach, with the tower blocks behind it.
  2. Dalmaji Tunnel (0.8 km) – a short tunnel under the Dalmaji hill; the capsules pass here too.
  3. Haewol Skywalk (1.1 km) – a viewing deck over the sea.
  4. Cheongsapo (2.3 km) – a small fishing village with red and white twin lighthouses and a row of seafood restaurants. The capsules end here.
  5. Daritdol Skywalk (2.9 km) – a deck with a glass floor above the rocks.
  6. Gudeokpo (3.4 km) – the last small stop before Songjeong.
  7. Songjeong (4.8 km) – the end of the line, a short walk from Songjeong Beach.

All seats on the train face the sea, according to Visit Busan. The Busan Green Railway path beside the track is free and always open, so you can walk any section instead of riding.

Getting to Haeundae Blueline Park

Station How to get there
Mipo (both rides) Walk to the east end of Haeundae Beach; or Line 2 Jungdong Station Exit 7, about 800 m (10–15 min); or bus 39, 100, 139, 141, 200 or express 1003 to Mipo/Moontan Road entrance (미포.문탠로드입구), then about 10 min on foot
Cheongsapo (both rides) Village bus Haeundae-gu 2 (stop: 청사포블루라인파크) or Haeundae-gu 10 from Jangsan Station Exit 5 or Haeundae Station Exit 1; taxi from Jangsan about 10 min

Routes from the operator’s directions page, checked 21 October 2026. Visit Busan gives 18 minutes on foot from Jungdong Exit 7. By taxi to Mipo, show 부산 해운대구 달맞이길62번길 13.

Tips for visiting

  • Book the capsule for weekends and holidays. Each slot has a fixed number of cars and you cannot board early, so a booked slot beats queuing for leftovers at the window.
  • Check the last departure. Capsule delays on busy days can make you miss the last train back, as the operator warns; in October the train runs until 19:30.
  • Luggage. Carry-on suitcases are allowed but space is tight. Lockers at Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong cost ₩2,000–5,000 and take only ₩1,000 notes.
  • Strollers and wheelchairs. Fold strollers on both rides. Manual wheelchairs can roll onto the train but must be folded for the capsule; electric wheelchairs are not allowed on either. Manual wheelchairs can be borrowed at the ticket offices.
  • Pets ride only in a carrier.
  • Rain. Both rides run in rain but can stop in storms and typhoons.

A short history

The Donghae Nambu Line once ran along this cliff-edge stretch between Mipo and Songjeong, one of the best-known sea views from a Korean train. When the line was double-tracked and electrified, the shore route closed in 2013. The old track was rebuilt as a park, and Haeundae Blueline Park opened in October 2020 with the Beach Train and the Sky Capsule.

Around Haeundae Blueline Park

The park belongs to Busan’s Haeundae district. Mipo Station sits at the east end of Haeundae Beach, and the Busan X the Sky observatory rises above the same end of the beach. Walk the beach west to Dongbaekseom for the coastal loop. From Songjeong, the seaside temple Haedong Yonggungsa is a short bus or taxi ride north, which makes an east-coast day: temple in the morning, Beach Train back toward Haeundae, beach in the afternoon. For the two-day plan and where to stay, see the Busan city guide and the Busan region page.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Haeundae Sky Capsule?

The Sky Capsule is priced per car, one way: ₩50,000 for two people, ₩55,000 for three and ₩60,000 for four (2026 fares, in force since 1 May 2026). There is no one-person fare. A package with a one-way capsule and an all-stops Beach Train pass costs ₩73,000 for two.

Should I ride the Sky Capsule or the Beach Train?

Take the Sky Capsule if you are two to four people and want the photo ride; it covers only the 2 km from Mipo to Cheongsapo and takes about 30 minutes. Take the Beach Train if you are on a budget, alone, or want to go on to Songjeong: it runs the full 4.8 km in about 25 minutes from ₩10,000.

Do I need to book Haeundae Blueline Park in advance?

For the Sky Capsule at weekends and on holidays, yes: each time slot has a fixed number of cars and you cannot board earlier than your slot. Same-day tickets are sold at Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong. If the official site rejects your overseas card, use one of the resellers the operator lists, such as Klook, Trip.com or KKday.

Can I ride the Sky Capsule round trip?

Not on one ticket. Each capsule ticket is one way, Mipo to Cheongsapo or Cheongsapo to Mipo, and you can only board at the station you booked. Most people ride the capsule one way and return on the Beach Train or on foot along the coastal path.

How do I get to Haeundae Blueline Park from Haeundae Beach?

Walk to the east end of the beach (left, facing the sea) to Mipo Station. By metro, Line 2 Jungdong Station Exit 7 is about 800 m, 10–15 minutes on foot. Express bus 1003 from Busan Station and Nampo stops at Mipo (Moontan Road entrance), about 10 minutes' walk away.
